Alan Wake Fights Piracy Darkness

For those that say that PC games are doomed to be pirated and that it's a stolen profit zone, Alan Wake just demonstrated that that isn't the case.

Just 48 hours after the release on Steam, Remedy EVP Aki Järvilehto wrote:
"I wanted to chime in here. We are very happy with the sales and hitting #1 on Steam at launch was nothing short of amazing. We recouped our development and marketing expenses during the first 48 hours. And yes, we're certainly very excited about PC."
The game, first released as a Xbox 360 exclusive, saw it's way to Steam and although many producers say that the PC is a pirate haven and that any game will be pirated to oblivion, we see Alan Wake breaking even in two days.

Is it the price tag?

Could it be that *gasp* consumers don't mind paying for things that are easy to install, no DRM and not a bazillion bucks? Oh my!
