Duke Nukem isn't that bad?

Brian Martel (one of the dudes at Gearbox) claimed: "Everybody should really be thankful that it existed to some degree at all", when talking about that major (failure) game: Duke Nukem Forever.

- Don´t bet on this Duke. Bad idea -

But what where they expecting? Not the low scores thats for sure: "I think that if we were going to review the reviews fairly, no."

Interesting. More after they said: "First of all it is great, it's very, very entertaining, it's very fun. It's also Duke frickin' Nukem frickin' Forever. One could not be a gamer in this world without consuming that and having that experience. You're just missing out on an entire, ginormous aspect of video games history if you fail to participate. This game's gonna ship and we're all going to be there, so it doesn't matter what the score is."

And they really get behind their game: "It was what it was meant to be, which is a more old-school style game in what is today's technology".

Let's be honest here. The technology they used wasn't exactly state-of-the-art. If they wanted to release a Duke Nukem game after the long wait they shouldn't just rely on the name and hype generated. The game just felt bland and not much that really stood out. (That and the fact that the first and last boss are the same...)

"Gearbox made sure the world got to see what they made and I think everybody should really be thankful that it existed to some degree at all. Because it really would've just gone away."

Don't be like that Gearbox.
